One thing that always takes me aback since I started the journey into the world of instagram parenting has always been the amazing response from followers and members of the community when help is needed or a question answered.
A few days ago I asked through this blog and on an instagram post about embracing the dad bod or actually picking my ass up of the sofa and doing something about the long list of clothes taunting me because quite frankly my thighs no longer fit in my skinny jeans and my skinny t’s are in fact what can only be described as sausage skins.
So there was quite a split opinion on what to do and I have taken everyones kind words on board. It was actually something written by the lovely @nataliagross as a comment on my instagram post that has inspired me the most. Natalia suggested attempting a park run. Its basically a free to enter timed 5km run every Saturday morning in one of 379 locations across the UK. There is a bias towards London and the South East but something out there for everyone. Running is something I used to love to do pre Etta and always enjoyed the comfort of a lonely run weather it was along the Singapore river to work or around the imperial palace garden in Tokyo I loved it. So when Natalia mentioned that park runs are not only baby / buggy friendly as well as puppy friendly I thought its the perfect opportunity to get out of the house, do some exercise that includes Etta and Cat the Dog as opposed to finding the time around them. Added bonus is i can get some browny points with Alice by giving her a lie in. Saying that i did bargain a brunch made for my return into the deal.
Day 1 of 1 down I feel ready to get up and do it all again tomorrow and start winning at this life and parenting lark. On this occasion, thank you Natalia and a general thank you to everyone out there keeping each other going with the amazing help and support that we provide for one another.
Who is up for Park Run next Saturday?
