Time to invest in all of you

Last time I was talking to you about Wealthify at Aviva, I had only scratched the surface of my investment journey. I was looking into investing and talking to Alice about the benefits of being able to invest with more flexibility. This time around, Alice and I have taken steps and have invested money with Wealthify at Aviva. We have invested £500 to begin with, of which we have put £250 into two Junior ISAs for the kids and we are going to increase ours and our children's investment monthly. We have also asked our family to give the children some money for their birthdays to save for their future.

One of the best things we have learnt since starting our investment journey, is that we can change our investment regularly and simply. There are different levels of investment to suit how much risk we are comfortable taking. This is great for Alice who is (self-described) massively risk averse. Alice would always prefer to go in small, allow something to prove itself and then raise the investment once she feels comfortable. I, on the other hand, have always been more of an ‘all in’ kinda guy so I would probably go in bigger than Alice. But when it comes to our finances, she’s the boss! Wealthify at Aviva allows us to go in small and increase our investment slowly so that everyone is happy!!

Between two (soon to be three) small children and two self-run businesses, I don’t have a huge amount of time! Alice is also hugely busy and between the kiddos and our careers, things like long term investments are never prioritised - is it immediately important? If no, push to the back of the line. Haha. That means that our finances often get pushed further and further back on the ‘to do’ list! That’s why Wealthify is so beneficial to us; our money is invested for us which leaves us more time for the important things like movie nights, morning cuddles and lunchtime fort building!!

This is the first time Alice and I have ever invested (yep, we tend to shy away from the more ‘adult’ things in life!!) although we do have cash savings put aside for any unexpected expenses.  We really needed Wealthify at Aviva to hold our hand through the process and to be completely honest, they really have. They helped us to understand that with investing the value could go down as well as up and you could get back less than you invested and you can ask for help or clarification at any point and the step-by-step instructions are clear and understandable.

The setup process and day-to-day running of our investments were so easy and the flexibility to invest different amounts, at all times of day and night have meant that we are very happy and will continue to invest. So why not take a look for yourself?? If you head to Aviva’s New Investor Series, you will find all sorts of interesting information and help to start (or amp-up) your investment journey! https://at.aviva.uk/LD12Last time I was talking to you about Wealthify at Aviva, I had only scratched the surface of my investment journey.
